Getting to Melbourne by air or by land

The most common way to travel to Melbourne is by using the nearest airport Melbourne (MEL) Airport, sometimes referred to as the Tullamarine Airport, which is 23 km (14 miles) away from the city center. The easiest ways to get to the city center is by Taxi, Uber, or by taking the SkyBus Express Airport Transfer, which is a double-decker bus running 24 hrs at different frequencies, the bus takes 30-45 mins depending on traffic. If you are traveling to ICQE from within Australia, flying is probably your best option, but there are also bus and train options available that will take you to Southern Cross Station in the city.

Transportation

Melbourne has one of the best public transport systems in Australia, offering a number of services including trains, buses and trams (also known as trolleys or streetcars) which all use one payment method. Taxis are also available, but the conference hotel is within the Free Tram Zone that extends from Queen Victoria Market to Docklands, Spring Street, Flinders Street Station, and Federation Square. The City Circle Tram is also free making it easy to get around Melbourne near the conference venue.

Hotels

There are many different hotel options in Melbourne within walking distance to the conference venue, Melbourne Marriott Hotel. We encourage conference attendees to book their lodgings well in advance of the event to ensure they have a convenient place to stay.
